I am really confused. I am trying to import some .mpg movies that I have in iPhoto that came from my digital camera. Ivideo just will not allow me to import them and I don't know what to do.

I tried exporting them first to a folder on my desktop but ivideo will still not allow me to select them.

I'm beginning to detest ivideo with a passion. I don't understand why this stupid program is so hard to use. It's ivideo 08 by the way.

My ultimate goal is to publish the videos on .mac. I guess I can do it if I leave them in iphoto but I wanted to separate them in a separate video album for my relatives to see.

I am really angry and frustrated. Why must this be so difficult to do????

What's ivideo? Do you mean iMovie HD ?

If so I don't think it does mpg files.

I have that on my mac already. Are you saying that imovie can't handle .MPG files? WTF???? That is a common format! Why wouldn't it work with them????

And if that's the case then how come iphoto can import them from my digial camera?????

OMFG, I can't believe Apple wouldn't support .mpg.... WTF???:mad::mad:

It depends on what's inside the mpeg file.MPG is a container not a codec.

    mpeg-2 is muxed.
Some mpeg files have .avi files inside which is usually associated with microsoft files.

I guess it is mpg 1 or something. When I pull up info, this is what I see:

    Codecs: Mpeg 1 muxed

So it doesn't support mpeg 1?? My digital camera is somewhat old so maybe that's the problem. But it's weird how iphoto will accept the file and will upload it to .mac.

    This is so confusing. :confused::eek:

I am exporting it to mpg 5 with streamclip. I think that should do it.

It must be because it's mpeg 1 that imovie won't take it.

Geez! Step away from the computer and take a valium!

Even if it wasn't YOUR fault for what was happening, it is not anything to FREAK out about.

You should learn the software requirements of the apps you use before blowing something up...

Sorry for freaking out. This is a difficult time for my family as it involves a painful loss so I am trying to get the pics of our time together online and the movies too. So that is why I am so frustrated.
