I'm trying to load this myspace page that has a lot of music and background art. I go to the page, it doesn't load the background etc. and it sits. I let it sit, loading for a while and suddenly, it loaded like ten minutes later and the music came on. I don't get it. I have a gig of ram in my mini and a 1.25 in my 12 PB and niehter machine will load the page. What is wrong? ..All other apps are shut down.

How fast is your internet connection? If you have a slow connection then it may take sometime to load the page.

Are you downloading other things at the same time?

Well...are you using Safari for both Macs? I think it'd be better to try different browsers first, as Safari does have some issues with myspace.

Agreed, I cant even log into myspace with Safari so I use Firefox... although I think Camino makes for a good Safari alternative.

MYspace pages are simply broken. Allowing users with probably no HTML writing ability to use it is not a good thing. What probably happens is that safari is not capable of rendering the site itself.

BTW. Did anyone notice how similar half of these myspace pages are to those homepages everyone had on angelfire and geocites, bad gifs and all.

And if Firefox doesn't work, try to stop using Myspace.

Funny a MySpace thread pops up just as I'm about ready to fly over to MySpace headquarters and kick some lazy mofo's ass.

I ran a group on MySpace for over two years about model railroading. It was really popular, had over 700 members, was really nicely made, lots of active discussion, and well moderated (so no porn or free iPods). People really enjoyed it, posted photos of their designs and layouts, and it was great. A shining beacon in a sea of MySpace crappiness. It became my only real reason to sign into MySpace.

Today I signed in and it has vanished. Completely gone. No explanation, no nothing.

    It is a sad day.

Yeah, I am not a MySpace fan at all. NOT loading any other apps or downloading or anything... regular dsl airport connection for my PPC mac mini 1.5ghz with a gig of ram and my PPC 12" Powerbook 1.5ghz with 1.25gbs of ram ... the whole page won't load.

here is the link. When it DID load that once, music was playing immediately:
