    Hello All,

I recently helped my cousin who was trying to get to print wirelessly from her macbook pro. I suggested that she check out the Airport Extreme.

After she got frustrated, I went in to try to help. I couldn't seem to be able to get it to work either...

    Anyone got any tips?

I have RR here and have used a Airport Express and Time Capsule successfully.

Make sure you do the steps in this order:

    1. Turn on cable modem and wait for it to boot.
    2. Plug in Airport Extreme
    3. Enjoy internet.

Also, make sure you have the ethernet cable going from the modem hooked into the WAN port on the AE. I can't tell you how many people I know that get it wrong.

It wouldn't hurt to reset the AE either. There should be a tiny button on the back.

Make sure the AE's firmware is up to date.

I haven't had a lick of trouble getting on with Roadrunner. The only thing I have had trouble with is using DNS servers other than RR's. I switched from OpenDNS servers to RR's own and my problems went away. It was just plug and play.

    Hope this helps.
