I actually did tell you so:

https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...regret-getting-the-x-over-the-8-plus.2068057/

Been over 2 weeks since the iphone X was released and the novelty of it has well and truly worn off. You just need to scroll through all the headings in the main forum to see that this device isn't exactly worthy of a 10 year anniversary iphone.

Some are bored with it.

Scratches easily around the steel band.

Face ID not proving to be the game changer that Apple made it out to be.

People who bought the X who said they wouldn't be bothered by the notch, are bothered by the notch.

Some people are surprised to find that the usable space is not as big as the Plus screen (seriously don't you guys read threads on here, there was only like 15 of them dedicated to this before the X was released?).

Problems with screen colour.

People missing touch ID and its reliability, speed and ease of use.

Complaints about the price.

Eye strain complaints.

Oled burn.

Issues with tap to wake.

And so many many more issues.

Some of you are happy with the X and that's great. But there are many who are not and that's a shame.

This was supposed to be Apple's biggest ever iphone release, and there's been more letdowns, regrets, disappointments, frustrations and feelings of underwhelment than all of Italy combined when they were ousted from the world cup the other day.

Sure there's been no real #gate issues, but the collective of the above is far worse than any gate issue that has gone before.

As I said in another post, the X was supposed to be the biggy. This phone was years in the making. It was supposed to be a monster device. And this is what Tim Cook delivered, a device with problems and issues a mile long.

And if you think the X will not be boring next year, think again. This is Apple, it will bring in changes at snail's pace. Next year there will be the A12 man of steel chip, because this year's chip was a slouch, a Plus model size (expect this to be next year's killer feature), a slightly better camera and another 6 anamojis you can get your face around. And fark all else.

So if you're hoping next year, or the year after, or the year after that, and so on, will finally bring you an interesting iphone that won't leave you feeling bored after 2 weeks, then you will be disappointed once more.

In 4 years time when Italy makes amends and qualifies for the 2022 world cup, a whole generation of iphone users will still be disappointed with the latest and greatest iphone.

Some issues are temporary, but others (Tim Cook) never go away.

if you had to make a guess based on your interpretations...

say 100 people buy iPhone X.. how many of them are happy with it and how many aren't?

I am generally of your opinion. I admire the engineering behind the iPhone X, but it's not on my shopping list.

That said, you're not winning anyone over by an unsourced litany of alleged issues with the phone. Even if the iPhone X was a total disaster (like the Galaxy Note 7), rubbing it everyone's faces would not likely change a lot of minds, nor make any friends.

Let your words be few, lest you rob yourself at the opportunity to gain knowledge, wisdom, and experience by listening to those whom you silence by your “impertinent talking.”

I absolutely love my iPhone X. This is the first phone since buying my 6+ that I found value in purchasing. Only two days in and I haven’t found much that I don’t like about this phone. The screen alone is incredible and worth every penny.

Edit: also I left my house at 5:30am this morning, haven’t plugged it in yet and I’m at 36%. That’s with 2 hours of Hulu streaming on lte and 8 hours and some change of usage. The auto dim feature is great on this phone. No wonder why it lasts so long.

When people are unhappy about something they tend to complain about it on the Internet. Happy people are busy being happy with their iPhone Xs. It’s Friday night, they’re probably making animoji karaoke while drinking at their favorite bar. Who knows. I just know they’re not here complaining about Tim Cook. I’m old, I’m tired. I’m here with the husband and a cat posting on this forum and texting other parents about what we are supposed to get the teacher for Christmas. Have a great weekend.

Edit to clarify that I am the one posting, not the cat. :p

I think the root reason for all of the complaining and disappointment all traces back to one thing. Grant it, the device has some blatant issues, but there seems to be an entirely different reason people are so upset. This root problem, in my opinion, stems from people trying to find happiness through a hunk of metal. I was excited to receive my new gadget, and sure I wanted to show it off, but I also realize that it's just a phone. We live in a time of mass consumerism like no other, material is all the rage, but at what cost? People don't seem to realize that while the iPhone is a tool and a gadget, it is not happiness in a box. Don't try to stick a phone in a void that no material item could ever fill.

Got the iPhone X today, and I am very disappointed. That black thing on the top is ridiculous and the phone is small. Returning first thing next week.

Nope. Nope. You are wrong on so many levels. I’ve had my X since release day and I’m loving it. I have found zero issues, and nothing to complain about and I paid full purchase price. Those that have complained are either hypercritical or did not understand what they were buying. This device has replaced my iPad, my DSLR, and my laptop. A bargain for the cost. Everything works as advertised and I couldn’t be more happy.
People need to justify their decisions to anonymous people on the internet. I understand. But your decision based on speculation and a few posts by people who may not even actually own the device is not justification to belittle mine.

Did you also tell everyone that Italy wasn't going to qualify for the WC this year? People actually cried for that. Have yet to see crying on iPhone X. It's waterproof anyway.

Touch ID failed on me multiple times a day. Today I was at gas station, hood up, sunglasses on inside my car with a blazing high noon sun and face id worked without fail/hesitation.

The novelty of everything wears off. I’m not really sure why you fancy yourself s clairvoyant.

People get exited about new things.
People buy new things.
New things become no longer new things.
Cycle repeats.

What in earth was the point of this thread anyway?
[doublepost=1510976662][/doublepost]
Yup the X is definitely a flop,

T-Mobile Shipping Times......

Oh wait. Lmao.
This actually surprises me. People were legit ordering the phone the day after preorder and still getting launch day delivery. I can only imagine their initial stock was very large and now they’re getting smaller trickles. Or “everyone” waited until they could see the device in person to order.
