I have a 5.54Gb iso file that i want to burn on a dvd. but the dvd is 4. somthin gigs

    I have a 5.54Gb iso file that i want to burn on a dvd. but the dvd is 4. somthin gigs. How can i get it to fit?

    you are pretty much out of luck. I think even if you compress it, it will not fit. why did you put stuff in an iso or did you rip something or download something that is an illegal iso?

    Depends if the iso is a movie. Program like DVDShrink could help you if it was.

    If it's a movie, you can compress it. If not, you can burn it on a Dual-layer disc, assuming you have the right burner.

    The iso i was talking about was ripped from a dvd so i could mount it cause i didnt want to drag all the dvd's with me everytime i travel. however i seem to have missplaced the original dvd:confused:. and the is was 5.54 gb. so i expect the original was 8gb:p

    What exactly is your question? Are you asking how to burn an ISO that is larger than the size of a single layer DVD onto DVD? Then the answer is to use a DL DVD, of course. If not that, then what exactly are you asking?

    never mind lol. i fount the dvd again, turned out my lil bro had lent it to someone... thanks for all the help
