i have my ipod touch in itunes, i click check for updates but it says 1.1.4

    2.0's not out yet. It should be in a few more hours

    The 2.0 firmware isnt out yet. Guess it should appear within the next 1-3 hours! Keep your eyes open!:)

    then how is it that some people can see the app store?

    The App Store is on iTunes as well. It won't be on your iPod until 2.0 comes out.

    i wish they would just release 2.0, i've already went on a spending spree and am ready to put the apps on my iPod...

    Will FW2.0 allow installation of third-party apps like the 2GB wikipedia dump without jailbreaking?

    yes; in fact you can download itunes 7.7 and buy apps NOW... they will sync to ipod when 2.0 comes. im so glad i could download apps before i left my computer!

    This doesn't sound kosher. Apple would probably embed some filter/passkey into the apps in the app store.
