I bought one last week. I didn´t know the new models were coming this soon! I feel cheated.

I wish I could take it back and get a new model. The new models will probably sell for the same price, so I feel like I´ve paid way over price for this. :(

You have 14 days to return it as long as you bought it from Apple. Resellers have varying return policies.

Incidentally, no one actually knows when the new ones are due.

    Buyer's Guide

How can you say cheated?! You're obviously familiar with this site, Buyer's Guide FTW... it wasn't an impulse buy, right? Gotta do the research... in the meantime you're well within the window to bring it back and get your money back, there may be a small restocking fee. if you have to pay this fee think of it as what this lesson cost you.

Well I bought it from a reseller and I don´t know what their return policy is, especially since I´ve already used this for a week.

I havent´t been here for awhile, so I wasn´t clear about the rumors. I just heard it could come maybe around June with the Lion, but I didn´t believe that, ´cause it hasn´t been even a year since the last ones came out. If the new models come out tomorrow or in a week or two, I´m screwed big time! :(

You shouldn't feel cheated...it's your fault you didn't do due research.

When has reading rumors become doing research?

What are you complaining then? Your latest post (the one I quoted) suggests that you don't care or believe in rumors but your OP is totally based on the rumors that new MBAs are coming soon. Try to decide already.

As someone who is a macrumors REGULAR, as in more than 100 posts here, you get no sympathy from me that you didn't do your research first. Maybe if you were a newbie, but yeah, good luck with that return or try your hand at ebay/craigslist.

Or maybe just enjoy your computer and stop complaining?

This story sounds so false. The original poster contradict themselves. I wonder why anybody pays attention to this?

No one screwed you so stop complaining about being screwed. You got exactly what you paid for, a very capable new computer. Your computer is no less capable than when you bought it. Even if a new model comes out your computer will still do everything it did before.

Poster - Stop whining. You know as well as someone being first to get a new Apple product, there's always the LAST person to buy one, too. It doesn't necessarily have to be you. There are return routes open to you.

Repliers: Stop being such pompous asses "the poster contradicts himself....", geez. You're all so smart! Some people make mistakes, Some even exceed their quota!

MacRumors may not be scientific research, but last time I called Apple and asked "So exactly when will the new blah-blah be released?" they told me "Why, a week from Thursday at 9:00AM, sir or ma'am as the case may be" right? MacRumors is as good a guess as any.

Sorry, gotta run to get in line for my iPhone 6.5! :)

Actually I still don´t know when the new models will be released. Maybe it will be released in September and all these rumors were wrong. That´s happened many times before you know.

It´s just ridiculous to say I didn´t do my research, when all there is, is just rumors that have turn out to be wrong many times before.

But if the rumors are right, my MBA value just dropped significantly in a matter of days and that is just wrong.

Apple should change their secretive "SUPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!! Release" policy. It´s stupid and makes many people angry, not just me.

Apple's "SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!! Release" policy will never change. Imagine apple made a public announcement 2 months in advance that a new model is coming out, they might as well stop production of the current model because nobody would buy it.

You are right in a way that we don't know when they will be released. But the key is we know they are coming and it could be this month or next too. I am waiting for the MBA because I read and researched about the changes. I have no need for it immediately as I thought I did, so I am gonna wait it out a little longer. If all else fails and it's announced for Sept, I most likely go get a updated 13" MBP and just deal with it like I did my old one.

No, the sales would go down of course, but people would still buy it. At least I would have, if I would have know the new models come in two months. BUT NOT, if they will come in few weeks. And maybe for those two months they could lower the price a littlebit, so people who would be tired to wait two months would get it immediately littlebit cheaper. That would be fair.

But their current policy is just ripping people off.

Don't get your panties in a ruffle. You have two options:

    (1) Keep your MBA and be happy -- even if it is updated
    (2) Call your reseller to inquire about their return policy, and return it if possible.

Bitching about your problem won't get you anywhere.

It's not wrong it's just it is what it is. That's life everyone has to deal with it. Maybe you should just always wait for the newer better model.

You really make yourself sound like the type of person who thinks someone always owes them something. That may or may not be true, just how I see it.

Yep someone always owes you something.

I don't see how you think they are ripping people off since you chose to buy it. Maybe you should go buy a PC instead.

The only definite mistake you appear to have made was purchasing your new Mac from a reseller that doesn't appear to give you *two weeks* to return it for any reason, without charging a restock fee.

Apple -- the company that you insist is ripping everyone off -- lets you do that, you know.
