OMG, I did an erase install, I backed up my stuff but forgot the Stuffit engine, now I can't unzip .sit files...ugh. Is there a way to do it? The Finder is supposed to, but it doesn't on .sit.

The Finder never natively unzipped .sit files. Up until Tiger, stuffit was included with the OS. Go here to download the new version, just updated for Tiger.

Thanks, for some reason I thought that it wasn't in Tiger because Tiger's Finder was supposed to do the unzipping like it's able to archive (as with Panther)

No problem :). I was a little confused myself when i was trying to open some .sit files, and realized Stuffit was nowhere to be found.

If you previously has Panther and still have the installer CDs, Stuffit is on the second CD, inside the packages folder on the CD. Also, if you want Internet Explorer, thats also on the second CD inside the packages folder.
