I need text bullets solution, could anyone help-me?

I'm a videomaker, and I got a work " transformate a power point pesentation to DVD". So I launched keynote for the first time to edit narrations. Everything it was going ok till I try to separate a bullet text in 2 parts in the same slides. The problem is create a bullet text (even in a new doc). The pop up menu in the text inspector palete is disable. I looked for tips in keynote's help and everything, I tried, didn't enable the pop up menu. So, can anyone help-me? I'll appreciate that.
