Android feels likes years ahead. The UI is unique and innovative, and wow, it's amazing. My iPhone's iOS looks outdated and old - it's like running Windows 2000 today. iOS 6 doesn't make it better at all, they made the UI even worse.

I wish I considered android earlier

Android has changed a lot. I had a G1 for a week before I replaced it with my iPhone. Would have never given android a shot until now, the new update makes it as fast as iOS.

That doesn't show a lot really other than the improved notifications. Android has done most of that stuff since ice cream sandwich.

I suggest you look at the new Google Now and Google voice search if you want to be impressed :D

Yup, mix that up with TouchWiz or HTC Sense and it literally is beautiful.

I've been toying with the idea of the S3 and now Jelly Bean 4.1 has been confirmed for this week I'm practically clicking 'checkout'

I wouldn't base your decision solely on that, Samsung often miss their own deadlines for updates.

Also, if you get a network branded one you'll have to wait.

The update to ice cream sandwich for my old S2 came about a month after it was supposed to.

iOS is clean, focused, and got CLASS.
I agree its clean and focused, but classy?

I wouldn't go that far. iOS is a nice looking OS, but nothing about it says "classy" especially with how iOS6 looks now. The term I'd use is "childish".

A classy looking OS wouldn't have such big garish buttons and mismatched color schemes and apps that seem like they don't belong together, along with designs that seem like they're part of a children's app like the game center or contacts list in the iPad. It would look seamless, refined, and most of all, adult.

Other words to describe iOS:
"whimsical"
"fun"
"simplistic"
"surreal"
"cartoonish"

I bought my daughter a generic tablet running 4.0 stock and I actually do like the additional features and widgets that come with touchwiz - granted all the bloatware and 3 different bloody app stores is annoying but I like Samsung's spin on it.

It's already been leaked online last week and Samsung have confirmed it for roll out after their speech on Wednesday so I don't think it'll be late this time.

It's also coming out for your S2 later this year ;)

I have an S3. I sold my S2 when I got the S3. Samsung promised and gave us an exact date for the ICS update earlier in the year, but that date came and went.

It might come out on time this time. Fingers crossed!

Yeah it seems to be happening for once! I've gone and ordered one - coming tomorrow. Just been sorting all the Google side of it out now so it'll all work once it's setup.

Can't wait.

With all due respect but you have no idea what you are talking about. Not every app has to look like the other. This has zero to do with consistency. An app like garageband or iPhotos doesn't and SHOULD NOT look like each other. Would you call garageband a childish app? App design serves a propose and tries to invoke a certain emotion from the user. That user can be 15 or 50 years old. A volume control that looks like a knob might look "cartoonish" to you, but the way a user reacts to it is what matters. Something he can identify with and immediately understand how to interact with. In most cases, navigation/controls behavior IS consistent.

The SUBTLE UI touches, animations (when needed), and restraint to me IS class.

I saw a Nexus 7 for the first time yesterday. I must admit 4.1 looks superb now. It's prob the first Android device I seen that has made me go "ooh" (the price tag always helps as well).

While I would like to get a nexus 7 I am so locked into the iOS eco system that I'm not sure if I could leave. Although to get one to play with would be great. :)

Funny how you get all emotional over his opinion when your opinion of android was probably just as outlandish.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhh.

No. The only beautiful UI is stock Jelly Bean. Touchwiz is very kiddie-like and Sense is overdone and bloated feeling.
I am sorry but this looks like garbage. It is like some developer discovered animations and start slapping it on everything left and right. ZERO taste and retarded usability. That lock screen gave me the LOLZ.

iOS is clean, focused, and got CLASS.
Opinions are like as##oles. Everyone has one and they are all different.

I am thankful for this.

Just remember people, just because YOU think something is the way it is, others don't see it the same way you do. If this weren't the case, you would be a deity and likely not wasting your time posting banal things on a forum.
