I set up new drive on macbook pro and restored from a time machine backup.

I installed the hard drive and then installed lion from a USB key.

At the end of the install I chose to transfer everything from a time machine backup from my other MacBook pro.

It didn't let me choose a specific time machine backup date. It seems to have used the most recent backup though. Is this the normal behavior using this method?

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Does it automatically pick the most recent backup?

Yes it does. There is no way to choose anything else.
