iBook 800, 640 MB RAM, worked perfectly until about 1.5 hours ago. I took it out of my bag, opened it and.... no picture. One of the curses of a quiet hard drive; I can barely tell when it's on in a quiet environment, and not at all in at all noisy one. To cut to the point, when I restarted, still no video, but after a few minutes, I could press the volume keys to play the alert sound, but still no picture. So I hit the power button and return. Within 30 seconds, I hear it turn off. So I know there's input and processing but no output. So I restart with cmnd-option-o-f to get into open firmware to see if it's a software or hardware problem. I get the regular open firmware screen, but there are horizontal lines flashing up and down the right side of the screen.. IOW, argh... guess it's time for a trip to the Walnut Creek Apple Store....

    I wonder what went wrong...
