Now that Sprint, Virgin Mobile, and Boost use SIM cards on their LTE network I think that it would be ideal to use a Verizon (unlocked) iPhone 6 or 6 Plus on their network. Just activate the Sprint/MVNO SIM card elsewhere and put it into the Verizon phone and voila.

Sounds good eh?

Sprint will activate compatible devices on its network.Ive activated a verizon 5S on sprint

Actually I plan to try this out and give you the results whenever I get a chance. :)

You can try it but don't hold your breath.
You're not the 1st one to think of that. You will not get far without Sprints blessings.
If they don't allow the device to be activated on their network and get that devices ESN added to their database you won't get anywhere.

That rule applies to the old iPhone 4 and 4s on Sprint... with the new LTE cards those rules are now different I think.

I will attempt to use my Verizon iPhone 5c on Boost and will report back whatever I find out.

You think or hope wrong but you don't have to believe me.
Just stick the sim in and see how far you get:D
Would be nice to be able to but its not possible when it comes to sprint or its networked MVNO's.
Any LTE verizon iphone will work on any GSM carrier in the world and verizon but not on Sprint.

As a 16 year Sprint customer, I have to ask…WHY?

So, lets say you get what you want. Now you have a Verizon iPhone on Sprint's network. Is Sprint 3G somehow better than Verizon LTE?

Or am I totally missing something here?

P.S. Now that Sprint has SIM cards?! Sprint has had iPhones with SIMs in them since 2011. The 4s and 5 both had SIMS (I have a Sprint iPhone 5).

Lastly. You do realize that the unlocked Sprint iPhone 6/6+ is the phone model to have right? The SIM free model you can buy from Apple is the Sprint model. How does doing what you want to do make the Verizon phone better than the Sprint model?

Calling Virgin Mobile to add my Verizon iPhone 5c to their system. Hopefully it will work.
