    Hy,

I'm working with Final Cut X and want to buy the new base model of the new Macbook Pro. I can choose between the upgrade from a i5 2.0Ghz to the i7 2.4Ghz OR the upgrade from 8GB to 16GB.

I think the memory upgrade makes more sense right?

Yes Ram is MUCH more important , but for video editing I would go quad core if budget allows.

The non-Touch Bar 13" BTO options do not include quad-core processors.

Non 15" MacBook Pros have never had a quad core option.

Unfortunately you can get 2 13" for the price of the 15 (almost). So that would be quad core than too :D

Hmmm. I think it's time to say goodbye to the Macbook and say Hello to the iMac. So less power for high prices in the current Macbook portfolio.
