Thinking of selling my ibook that I just bought and added my new items to. I am really wanting a macbook and a free ipod with the educator's deal since mine was stolen.

The only flaw is inside the internal battery compartment the thin silver lining broke off even though it snaps back into place, I superglued it. This is a super clean machine in perfect condition.

    PowerPC G4 processor 1.33 Ghz
    Memory-1 GB
    Display: Brilliant 14" great resolution
Large 80 GB NEW Hard Drive
CDRW/DVD/CD Super Drive to burn dvds
New Battery 4400 MaH-extra backup battery too 2 hours charge
    Airport Extreme for wireless
    Apple wall adapter/charger
Igo car charger and ipod adapter extra bonus
Mac OS X (Tiger 10.4) loaded, disk included
    All start up disks included

    Looking for $675 OBO

I have great reputation on ebay: arttillygirl, as well as here.
I thought I would offer it here before trying ebay.

Seems a bit steep to me -- I'd expect more like $525.

You can get a Macbook 1.83Ghz for $675. I'd say tone it down to $500.

I'm not interested, but I think you should ask somewhere around $499.

    What's wrong with this picture?

Someone sent me this from my craiglist ad for this item:

"Thanks for your quick respond No problem with that i just want to send it to my son schooling in west africa,he said is urgently needed,i like him alot because he is the only son i have and i will like you to ship it directly to him cos am not in the state am on vacation... i will do the payment through paypal so send me your paypal email address and your full name for the payment,i will contact my accountant for the payment...so send me the last price of the item and i will send you $100 for the shipment cost.. Hope to hear from you soon.."

I feel like it's bogus obviously but I am curious; if I gave him my paypal address and my name and he deposited the money, what could happen? I would have the $ and he could do whatever he wanted with the ibook. What am I missing, it's too good to be true.

It's not worth the effort, they will probably lock your paypal account until they recover the fraudulent funds, and other unfavorable actions towards you, it's not worth the time or the hassle.

    Just my .02

Very high likelihood it's bogus IMHO. It is similar to the template used by scammers on eBay. Agree with Andrew Henry, you will only get grief once they file a complaint with PayPal... Beware!

My understanding is this email (and variants on it) have been sent re: all sorts of stuff for sale on craigslist - you send the laptop, they dispute the payment, you lose the money. 123.

(for me) craigslist is for local (cash) sales only - and while ebay is broken, it can still work if you're careful.

    Should I even sell this?

I am going to have to spend $800 or 1k more to get a new setup with apple care and yes I would get a new ipod with the education offer but I have a sufficient shuffle. So I know no one can answer this for me the case was cracked slightly when I recently dropped it  but I have an offer of $450 from Craigslist.
Any suggestions how long this ibook will last me?
It's 38 months old now and I really like it.

It should last you another year or two with decent performance if you're lucky, but I'd take the $450 and run. It's getting harder and harder to sell stuff these days.
