A lot of people have told me this, and I just wanted to know whether you could use the ram off of a iMac G3 on an iBook G4??
My iBook has been lagging it lately, and well I don't really want to spend $60 on 512mb card.

I believe the imac400 is 168 pin while the ibook is 144 pin. Wrong size. Though the earlier rev iMac g3s (233-333mhz) DID use 144 pin memory chips. Very strange that they used laptop sized chips in a desktop.

There's also the fact that your ibook G4 uses DDR memory and the G3 imacs used SDR memory, making them incompatible even if the imac ram was in a laptop format.

I understand, guess I'll just have to buy more memory... or maybe I should just trade it in for a newer model. Well either way, thanks everyone for your help.
