    Hi,

I was wondering whether buying an contract free iphone from deals sites will cause any problem during the unlock process?

If buying from a third party vendor, it may cause problems as it could be unlocked or it not unlocked. IMO, it is best to buy contract-free unlocked iphone directly from the apple store.

There is a $150 price difference with an Apple Store and deal sites.

They specifically says that it is a "Contract Free AT&T phone", i assume this should just work as like any other contract free phones sold in att or apple stores.

Yes however, I would contact that dealer just make sure that it is unlockable evne if you call AT&T. I've heard some case where people who purchased an iphone through e-bay needed a receipt as a proof that it was an AT&T phone when they were trying to unlock it.

The best thing to do is just buy it unlocked straight from Apple. These are guaranteed unlocked for the rest of their life.
