Carrier If I'm an AT&T subscriber but purchased an unlocked T-Mobile iPhone, is that ok?

So in my area there were no Jet Black iPhones available on AT&T. I'm on the Apple Upgrade Program so I checked T-Mobile and sure enough they had one through Apple's site.

The question I have is: is this going to be a problem when I pick up the phone? Am I going to be required to have a T-Mobile account, or should I be able to just put my current iPhone's sim into the new phone and be good to go?

    Thanks for that.

I guess that leads me to wonder: Why even separate the unlocked phones by carrier in the first place? It just seems weird that they would keep different stock of AT&T and T-Mobile phones even though they're the same phone.

Because the each providers phone will include their SIM card. And if the purchaser is choosing a payment plan, the att phone will be locked to that carrier.

Got it. Thanks! Glad I'm not going to have a headache at the Apple Store on Friday.
