..what would your dream setup be (given the current technology) ? Mine would have to be... Power Mac G4 Dual 1Ghz 1.5Gb RAM 3 x 72Gb Ultra 160 SCSI HDDz 2 x 23" Apple Displays 10Gb iPod AirPort ...and for when I don't want to sit at my desk... PowerBook G4 667Mhz 1Gb RAM 48Gb HDD AirPort with a T1 connection to the web; mmmmm.....that would be soooooo sweeeet!
Diddo - but don't forget the TV turner card! P.S. I've already got the T1 in my apartment, and you're right... it is sweet!
Ha, you're forgetting software too. But I guess you'd just get it all if you won the lotto, it wouldn't matter. 2 23" would be ok, but why not add another 23" or a sound card for digital input. Digidesign and protools.
are their any drivers for the usb ati tv wonder for os x? i know my friend has one of those, but must boot into 9 every time he wants to watch tv (it doesn't even work in classic!) i'm sure if there are some drivers my friend would be a very happy camper... let me know if you can help!
here's a question... theoretically how many 23" displays could you power off one g4... would OS X mind if there were say 4 pci video cards and 4 dviators? i'll never be able to afford that kind of setup but just dreaming about it is fun
I don't know of an actual limit to the number of displays you can have, but 4 cards would get you 8 monitors. Crazy!
8 x 23" Displays, oooooo....sweeeeet . Only problem is.....I wouldn't know which one to look at, and...I'd never leave the house!
How a T3 connection it would be nice to 40 to 50 mb a sec But until then I will have to settle with cable 1.5mb sec
