Just curious for those who went from the 7/7+ to the 8/8+ - are you happy with your decision? What differences have you noticed, if any?

I am actually very happy. This phone is beautiful and it is much faster and believe it or not, the battery last longer. The camera is better as well. I upgraded through AUP, so my monthly payment did not change.

I only changed because I wanted to go back to black bezels, but i’m glad I did.

-It’s noticeably faster, despite most reviews claiming the difference from the 7+ would be imperceptible.
-The glass back is a big improvement in terms of aesthetics and practicality.
-The camera is noticeably better even without the portrait lighting modes.
-Tru-tone makes a big difference.
-As somebody else said, battery life is better than the 7+ (Although I strongly believe I had a duff battery in my 7+)

What everyone here said.

I was also on the fence between the X and 8+ coming from my 7+ but I decided the X just wasn’t for me without TouchID and that notch.

The 8+ is amazing, the camera is so damn good that it does feel like a huge upgrade coming from the 7+.

I’m extremely impressed with the 8+ and will not be upgrading to the X until the second generation comes around next year.

The bezel colour was literally my only gripe with the 7+ I had, so the bonuses of upgrading are all nice-to-haves.

It would actually take something pretty special next year to make me think of upgrading again.

Same here. Extremely pleased with the 8 Plus... and coming from the 6s Plus it was a much bigger upgrade for me.

Will reconsider X v2 or v3 when I see how they improve it.

Also... as someone who came from the old gold to the new gold... all I can say is... GORGEOUS! :)

No regrets! I went from the matte black 7 to the gold 8. I love the color, glass back, speed, camera and true tone. I'm happy to have the white bezels back as it looks cleaner to me.

7 to 8 Plus here...

upgraded my iPhone 7 to the new iPhone 7 Plus.

No.Regrets.

very happy!

I would not upgrade from a iPhone 7 to the iPhone 8.
For me, it would not be an upgrade at all. (or maybe very very very minor and not worth the money at all)

I bought the 8 Plus and have no regrets but I returned it. Honestly I upgrade every year and this one seemed long in the tooth for me so I will shooting for an X. The one feature I wanted wireless charging is now handicapped by the current wired CarPlay equipment I already use daily..

Again no regrets for the 8 Plus, I just needed a change.

Same.

I did it. I don’t regret it one bit. The 8’s glass back looks better, the phone feels noticeably more solid and substantial, and the performance and camera are great.

For people on the fence though I’d say keep the 7 another year if you’re happy with it. I’ve had every iPhone, and the 7 just felt “meh” to me compared to my 6s. The 8 feels somewhat fresh and a nice upgrade all around.

Went from a iPhone 7 to an 8+ for the simple reason of the size difference, camera, wireless charging, CPU/GPU and keeping the touch ID for a while longer until the iPhone 11 comes out. No regrets at this time.

No regrets, my 8+ camera seems a good improvement over the 7+, battery life seems a -bit- longer if not the same.

I don't like my devices being inconsistent, so I was happy to finally be able to enable true tone on both my iPad and iPhone. (Didn't want to go from the iPad to the phone and think it looked weird... like nightshift on next to a device with it off)

Well, I just left the Apple Store with my new 8+. I haven’t been able to do my restoring yet so I don’t have much on it, but it looks pretty. I was a little disappointed in myself that I reserved the gold because when I got in the store I really loved the way the silver looked, but I was going to have to have my credit run again if I swapped colors and I just wasn’t doing that. I just loved the way the silver looked with the glass back because the glass back on the gold makes it look like it’s different colors and I don’t like that quite as much. Since it’s in the case all the time, it really won’t matter.
