If you want to return an iPhone purchased on the Verizon website?

I am looking to purchase an iPhone 6+ and a 6 for my wife on the Verizon website to take advantage of the current promotion of 10Gb for $80/month.

My question is, if either one of us wants to return our phone for a different size (6 vs 6+), can we go to the Apple Store? Or do we have to deal with Verizon?
