I hate going on facebook to record a video greeting and it gets all blurry. I am glad for this, its been long overdue honestly now that I think about it.

Anyone know how many megapixels it might be?

Im thinking between 2-5?

The "FaceTime" cameras so far (iPhone/iTouch/MacBookAir) have been inferior to the "iSight" cameras, so maybe a "HD FaceTime" camera is just a renamed "iSight" camera and no change from the current MacBook Pro?

Current iSight cameras actually have the ability to record in 1280x1024 (1.3MP) but it looks like trash when you view it at anything larger than 640x480.

Isn't 1 megapixel 1080p?

1 MegaPixel (MP) are 1 million (1.000.000) pixel, for example:

Horizontal width: 1000 pixel
Vertical height: 1000 pixel
Therefore such 1000 x 1000 pixel image would be 1 MP.

But as 1080p is short for the HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixel, 1080p is actually 2MP (2.073.600 pixel), 720p (1280 x 720 pixel) is 0.9MP (921.600 pixel).

Also note that a photo camera with 15MP and an aspect ratio of 3:2 has 5000 horizontal pixels and 3000 vertical pixel. Approximately.

I would like to be able to have full screen HD video conferencing on the whole large 15" screen in perfect detail with great frame-rates with my Fortune 500 status Japanese business partners who are all wearing suits...

720p should be fine for that. Pixels aren't everything, a good quality 720p camera is way better than crappy 1080p one.

Honestly, it sounds like they just changed "iSight" to "HD Facetime Camera."
