My hard drive clicked a few times on startup, I made backup copies, then it died. I removed the Quantum Fireball 3.5 series 10GB hard drive and want to replace it to have a 2d Computer for the kids schoolwork. I read a number of posts recommending a Seagate Barracuda HD and had some ???. Is it simply plug and play with that particular drive? Any limit on size? Best place to purchase?

Well done for backing it up just after you heard the dreaded clicks of death...

Make sure your replacement is an ATA/IDE drive not a SATA.
Plug it in, format it using Disk Utility from your Jaguar/Panther or installation disks.

On some G4 (QS) towers, they can only 'see' the first 127gb of a larger disk so that may apply here. If it's for homework you may not need more.

Check here for your model:

For purchasing in the US, many people here like:

UK, I like: http://www.dabs.com/uk
