iMac G5 1.8 GHz (purchased 2005) won't power on

Yesterday it would not power on, the day before it was working perfectly. I tried switching out the power cord, and also holding down the power on button for a few minutes. Purchased in August 2005 never had a problem. It is 1.8 GHz 20-in integrated flat panel. Any suggestions?

I have similar machine, which I still use. Purchased in 2004.

I had similar problem in April 2009, where it would start but immidiately cut off power. When I took to Apple, it was said that 2 possibilities-

1: Logic board failure-cost around £400
2. Power supply: £100.

Turned out to be the latter.

Working better than before, quieter. I guess it is general wear and tear.
