Hi, tested the keyboard of the new iMac 24 inch and the typing feels like that of butterfly keyboards (with a bit more key travel probably). No comparison to the new scissors keyboards of current MacBook Pro which fell great. Didn't Apple release a new version of the Magic Keyboard alongside the M1 MacBooks? At the moment I'm typing on the Magic Keyboard of the iMac 21.5 inch from 2019 (just to test it) – which feels also butterfly-ish (I really dislike the butterfly mechanism). My 10 year old Apple aluminium keyboard feels way better to type on.

The new Magic Keyboards (which come with new iMacs) are scissor mechanisms.

Quote from product description; "A scissor mechanism beneath each key allows for increased stability, while optimized key travel and a low profile provide a comfortable and precise typing experience."

That's strange as the Magic keyboard of the iMac has some of the drawbacks of the butterfly keyboard (for example way louder to type on than on the aluminum keyboard from years ago), whereas the keyboard of the MBP M1 feels more like the old scissor models – just tighter/better (and way more silent while typing than the iMac keyboard).
