iMac/Panther won't start up - HELP!?!

    Just got new 17in iMac, 1.25GHz, 1GB RAM. Installed Panther on clean 5GB partition of hard drive. Also installed Cisco VPN client, but no other software. After trying to download mail through VPN using Mail, computer froze. Since then I have not been able to restart the computer, even on the 10.2 startup CD. The monitor does not even turn on during most attempts. Any ideas? I thought I was a happy switcher from XP, but now re-considering. Thanks.

    I would say call Apple tech support. I think the number is 1-800-275-2273. Not positive though. Good luck.
