iMessage bubble overlaps for a moment when sending.

See photo of the issue, when I hit send, the bubble animation starts, overlaps for a second and resolves. This is happening on both iPhone and Mac iMessages after updating to iOS 26/tahoe. None of the subsequent updates has resolved it (including 26.1). Anyone else have this and if so, have you found a way to resolve it?
