Imovie help

I'm working on a project in imovie and I'm having a bit of trouble. I imported all the clips onto my hard drive through imovie and edited them all down to soundbytes. When i came back only some of them showed up in my media area yet all of the files appear on the hard drive. I've tried a bunch of different things and I'm not having much luck. I feel like it must be something fairly simple and I'm just a little rusty with it. Do you have any ideas? If there is any way you could give me a call or I'd be happy to meet up with you for a few minutes tomorrow. Thanks so much. I hope all is well with you.
