In contrast to the TEA Party folks.

I rather like our numbers, I must say.

But yet the TEA Party gets all the press. Makes you wonder.

I think because (1) being gay isn't really a political party in and of itself, and (2) when a Tea Party-backed candidate wins, it seems to be a bit of a surprise; I don't suppose it's much of a surprise if a candidate backed by he Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund wins.

"Self-parodying extreme right-wing smokescreen" isn't on The Agenda? It should be.

    It is

This is good to hear in the sense that I like it when typically disenfranchised people rise above and make it.

I also wonder why the Tea Party stuff gets so much coverage... If the media stopped paying attention to it, it might slowly die off. But then they might accuse the media of bias, so who knows anymore???

Gays are a unified political movement? This is news to me.

When I saw the title I thought it was Polish Gays, considering that Lee is in Chicago.

That's what I thought too :p I also wondered if Pol was some sort of slang term for a gay politician.

It is a fine sign of the times when G&L candidates no longer make the news. As it should be, ones sexual orientation should never be an issue of discussion in politics (or really anywhere else). I think the previous poster is correct in that TP candidates winning is rather surprising (and worrying for both left and right, IMO).

Oh, I agree. I just would like it if this kind of thing would get reported more, instead of bad news about a few TEA Party politicians who even Karl Rove thinks are crazy.

Isn't the extreme right candidate that won in DE last night anti-masturbation.?

Can you BE any more anti-fun? :p Talk about a "victimless crime".

She's whacked. There's not a chance in hell she'll win. But it's scary that that's the Republican nominee. Scary and sad.

Walk in on someone you shouldn't. You'll feel victimized.

So glad an otherwise hopeful Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund article/thread was framed unnecessarily as an us-versus-Tea Party issue, or a byproduct of, to use the terms-de-jure - "conflation" or "culture wars." Really.

    Sincerely,

Someone who is very pro-gay rights, and pro-gay marriage

I was specifically referring to the possibility of walking in on a parent/sibling etc.

    You now have your chance.

If you respond, humor me by doing so without a rhetorical question or a cheeky comment.

I'm sorry but, it deserves mentioning. This is definitely opposite of what the TEA Party candidates are pushing.

Well, you know me well enough to know what my response is to that, but I'll say it anyway:

Man up and start a thread entitled:

"The Tea Party is against gay rights." And if there already is one, plug this latest article into that thread. The alternative is to hijack threads - even your own threads, hell - even in your own OP - with non-subject matter tangents. But I know, it's fun to sex every thread up with references to Beck, the Tea Party, Bush II, or just-another-example-of-how-Americans-are-idiots.

EDIT: I am not accusing you in particular of the Beck-through-idiots comment, but what appears to be a majority of posters of late.

It's not victimless to the people who believe that sex is only for procreation and it's a potential baby.

Jesus Christ, kavika. I have started plenty of threads about the TEA Party and what they are for or against. Seriously, man up yourself and go look. There's even a thread on this very page started by MattSepeta about how wacky the TEA Party candidates are that won the primaries. I see no reason to start another one. This thread is here to contrast that one. Do I seriously have to cross reference everything in this forum?

    And now who's hijacking threads?

Not if you walk in on your brother or dad stroking the sausage. ;)

(No, not saying that's happened to me. Thank Jeebus)

How is masturbation sex? I was pretty sure sex only counted when there was TWO people. ;)

And those people need to get the stick out of their butt on the issue. (Unless that helps them, then whatever gets you going gets you going. :D)
