In the past, when were the MacBooks released after the announcement?

I'm sorry if this has already been posted but I typically don't follow the Mac rumors as much as the iPhone.

In the past, how long did they wait until they put the new MacBooks on the shelf? Meaning, once they announced the new lineup, was it a few days, weeks, a month, until they let us purchase them. I know we have to wait a while for the iPhone but was wondering if it's any different for the MacBooks. If memory serves me, they usually don't wait too long...?

Really? Was this with those "silent updates" they did or with any of them?

I've been interested in this aswell as I'm planning on buying a new MacBook Air on Monday if they make it available.

Early 2008 MacBook Pro: I bought it the same day it was announced about 5 minutes before the Apple store closed.

I had to wait while they received the shipment and inventoried them.
