What do you think? Written over 6 years ago and still rings true (at least to me) http://www.house.gov/paul/congrec/congrec2002/cr062702.htm If anything, I think it is a good read and warranted sharing.
Ron Paul's the man! Thanks for the link. Of note: Ron Paul had a landslide victory in Pierce County (county over the river, north of me), which is a hotbed of Libertarianism, in 2007. 1. Ron Paul 38% 2. Thompson 22% 3. Guliani 15% 4. Romney 11% 5. Huckabee 10% 6. McCain 3% 7. Hunter 2%
Hmm... aren't liberals roundly savaged when they make the claim that we live in a police state? Yet Paul is a hero for saying the same thing?
Well, of course. But to them a "police state" means things like letting gays get married and allowing choice. Ya know, since they'd be forced to marry someone of the same sex and have abortions then.
Right, and a landslide victory in one county out of 3,141 counties in the entire US is significant how?
It doesn't matter how many votes he is getting right now. In order for the Libertarian Party to be successful they must first win local elections around America, than take a step up and move to governors, etc. Ron Paul is the man, but his plan to win the election was not very good. America is run by the media. The media hates Ron Paul. Period.
just shows that not all of america is dems or reps. That county sounds like some "Wierd" folk by us standards
I'm not sure, as others have pointed out, that this matters much. The Green Party has had local successes as well in various counties. However, on this issue Ron Paul is right and I respect the man for his votes on FISA, as just one example.
