Hello,

I've bought an iMac 20" with 2.4 ghz dual core and 2 GB ram, running Mac OSX Leopard.

When I start Safari or FireFox it starts slow and the browsing is really slow to. I often get the "loading" cursor and when I watch flash movie's there are much delays.

Cleaning cache, cookies and history doesn't work. It's now for 2 weeks that I've got this problem.

Can anybody help me?

Greets,
Ruben

Well, Flash pretty much sucks on OS X, it is a fact of life. On my Core Duo MacBook, Safari uses 1.5% CPU (adjusted for dual core) when simply browsing, that is with multiple tabs open. As soon as I get some flash going, that number jumps to 40-60%CPU (again adjusted).

The problem is that javascript also sucks. Safari or FireFox doens't matter.

Even simple HTML browsing is going slow.

have you tried running a speedtest and looked at your pings?
Do you have another machine there to test to make sure its not your connection itself?

My pingspeed: 15.0 ms

I've got a PC here and that is not slow.

@Neil: doesn't work
