I am really disappointed in how certain things like TouchID in Pages and Numbers apparently have been implemented. When I attempt to open a file that has a password, my iTouch does not work. It has been so long since I created the password I no longer have access to some files that were passwrod protected. This is true on my iPhone 7 plus that auto updated Pages and Number.

On my iPad Pro 10.5 I have yet to update Pages and Numbers. Given my experience with the iPhone I do not think I will upgrade to the new Pages and Numbers.

Yes

Another thing,,how does the second window work now? It does not move the way it did in 10.3.3. I don’t know how to capture the left side to open the window more. Or make it a window pane on the right side. I keep playing with it and sometimes it moves or jumps into being a pane, but actually I have zero deliberate control of it doing any particular thing when I want it to move. One thing that I see is to not let if float, when I do that is when I loose control over that pane.

And did I not see where we could have three windows working? I can’t see where this is implemented now.

Another thing when trying to edit the above everytime I make an entry the page jumps to the bottom on me and Ihave to move back up to review.

This thing is really buggy or poorly implemented. I am Not sure which right now.

How do we get to the condition where I can delete an Icon now? What type of ITouch am I to do to get the little x to delete it?

I highly recommend the videos MR did that show how the new features work. The multitasking and slide over features are very helpful.

MR had some stuff and this video and it’s older version seemed to help a lot of people too

It is quite different than before and takes a bit of rebuilding the muscle memory but works really well for the most part. Feel free to post back with questions after you look at some primers.

OK another question...how does the new App Store work to get updated apps? I see where Pages and Numbers have an update available but they have yet to be shown where I can click update to get the newest versions.

There's an issue with it updating the list right now. Seems to do so very infrequently. However you can pull down to refresh when on the Updates page.

Tried this and it worked on my iPhone but has yet to work on my iPad Pro 10.5.

I still can’t get control of the panes that I open but at least I have learn how to close everything at once without a reboot.

That small little tab on the top of the panes just is not responsive for me. It certainly in not working as smoothly as shown on the video.

They can be a little tricky to grab hold of at first and aren’t very forgiving. I hope they increase the hit targets a little. Glad things are going a little better for you though.

IOS 11 still makes the iPad Pro 10.5 feel broken when I look back on my use of 10.3.3.

It’s rough in places. I’ve been running it for 3 months throughout the beta though and nothing has compelled me to go backwards. Broken seems a little melodramatic to me but YMMV. Not taking away from your experience.

I agree. My IPP also feels broken since the update. I dont know if it was just that iOS10.3 was a finished release and super smooth, iOS11 is in its very infancy and feel maybe i was hasty in updating so soon. I’m going to read up on going back to 10.

Ok another thing. I just was finally able to undate both Numbers and Pages.

I now have lost the ability to copy a spreadsheet or to make a second copy of a working spreadsheet.

How is this done now? I have lost the”edit” location where I could either delete a file or duplicate one.

It can’t be done within Numbers but one has to go into Files and when you click on it you get the duplicate option now. When you look at spreadsheets from within Numbers you only get the “recents” and here when clicking on a file the duplicate option is not available. Strange

It appears that as an early adoptor you are already, ready to be challenged or imposed upon. But I waited for the “final” version and expected it to work. You have learned the “work-a-rounds” that are yet to be understood by me.

Touch "Select", then the file (spreadsheet), and then choose Share, Duplicate, Move, or Delete.

I do not have the word “Select” as an option but if you mean select a file by holding it to open the pop up menu, this menu in particular does not have the choice of duplicate. This assumes I am coming to this area from within a spreadsheet in Numbers which puts me into the “Recent” page not the Files page that I was talking about where I can dive down into the file system to select this spreadsheet, then I get the option of “duplicate”.
