Love how someone who just joined the forums is an "expert" at iOS and can boldly declare an entire operating system "crap" based on his personal experience and lack of sample data.

iOS11 working great here for me.

Well, except for all my 32-bit apps. :(

To be fair, part of the reason people say the previous version is better every year is because the OS matures over the year and many of the initial issues are fixed. Plus it's not always the same people complaining each year.

What device have you run iOS 11 on?

I fixed my battery issues on 11.1 by restoring and setting up as new. But still iOS 11 is not as responsive and stable as 10.

I wish I had stayed on iOS 10

I haven't upgraded yet due to the changes in iTunes where they killed the ability to sync multiple devices with new versions of apps. I have an iPhone, and 2 iPads and hate the idea of having to update them all separately. I also hate the 2016/2017 keyboards - drives me to be ready to abandon my relatively new MBPr.

Add me to this list. My 6S and my Air2 are working as well if not better than 10.3.3... The new features in ios11 make it worth the update to me especially on the iPad. As Apple releases new updates, I expect it to continue to improve.

Obvious conclusion is that Apple doesn't know what beta and GM means, they just push it out cause the marketing and accounting team said so. Much better to wait for iOS 11.3

iOS 10 is the gold standard? News to me. I see lots of iOS 9 hold-outs who are still trying to avoid it. If there was a gold standard, it was iOS 6 :)

That said, iOS 11.1 is good enough for me, and at a point where I'd say go ahead and upgrade as long as you are on a 6S/SE or newer. In 11.1 they brought back 3D touch multi-tasker, and it seems like they tweaked the lockscreen camera swipe shortcut so that it works more reliably. So I'm happy enough and wouldn't want to go back to iOS 10 at this point.

That type of rationale essentially applies to most OS/software out there.

My 6s runs faster and smoother on IOS 11 than it ever has. Battery life if just as good at least. So when you write things such as the OP did (and it like another 5000 threads) you should say it does all that for you. It doesn't for everyone and I'd guess more people are happy than not. Your bad performance could be because of 1 app you are running and not the entire IOS. Sure there are some bugs but find me an IOS that doesn't have any. The same threads occurred for IOS 10 and 9 etc. when they came out.
As far as I'm concerned IOS 11 is the best IOS that I have seen.

I’d hardly say iOS 11 is crap but yes it did have a slightly rough release, iOS 11.1 made huge progress in the “perfect” direction of iOS 10:D

Personally I think they should slow down their release schedule. Ios 11 has been my worst upgrade experience on any device in a long long time. 11.1 is finally in a state that I feel is up to Apple's standards. It still has problems but at least they don't affect my daily usage too much. Battery life is still not what it used to be though. I used to get 1.5 days but now I have to recharge every night instead of every other day.

They really should slow down the release schedule or take the next iOS release to optimize the platform like iOS 9. I feel like with iOS being numbered they are pressured to add new features and “excitement”. Meanwhile the Pro users of iOS (yes they exist) are inconvenienced dealing with entirely broken software sometimes.

Exactly. There is a difference between science and opinion and since NO ONE who complains has ever provided any sort of metrological data that means it must be opinion which unfortunately is presented as fact way too often on this board

I think something is desperately wrong with iOS 11 when it has ruined the ram management in flagship phones and is being flattened by Android.

What are we talking about here when we are talking about being "flattened by Android"?

I'm using iPhone 7 plus with ios 11.1, which has been utterly disappointing. Yes, i do realize that the new features are good but seriously it's not stable enough, bugs and lags are everywhere. Battery performance is worse than ios 10.3.3 and somehow my iPhone is getting hot easily while using (twitter, browsing in Chrome, instagram).
3D touch lag and delay response and sometimes i saw my iPhone freeze while peeking an image using 3D touch in Twitter app.
Expecting a better version in the next software release.

He’s talking about the crazy guy up the street, people need to stop basing the overall performance based off the dumb “speed Test” comparison videos. Opening apps isn’t indicative of anything not to mention that iPhone X new phone isn’t totally optimized, we saw the same stuff with the iPhone 7 last year it’s nothing new. After 11.1, 11.2 and apps getting updated will see whose really getting “flattened” lmao .

cmon ios 10 wasn’t this bad when it came out you’d hardly note slowdowns and lags when the first release of ios 10 came out except a few bugs there but with ios 11 it’s been way too much bugs and lags everywhere get the point right
    --- Post Merged, Nov 7, 2017 ---
you all see this right , this is what we are talking about when the next ios 12 now comes out that one would be a killer os since just 11 is like this what would ios 12 look like please horrible
    --- Post Merged, Nov 7, 2017 ---
what has just joining the forum got to do with anything here please it’s about how long i’ve been with ios and my experience overall so make sure to get your facts right before you make a statement
    --- Post Merged, Nov 7, 2017 ---
and someone is out here telling me that ios 11 is already smooth for him ios 10 bugs weren’t as much as this crappy ios 11 when it came out we already saw advancements in performance when ios 10 came out but not with ios 11 everything is slower and laggy and buggy
    --- Post Merged, Nov 7, 2017 ---
    thank you for this

Watch the video you posted. The Note wrecked the iPhone X in ram management. It’s obvious iOS 11 needs 4GB of RAM minimum.

Hah that’s a funny joke. iOS 11 just needs a few point releases you’ll see
