Only because one phone has TWICE the RAM than the other. Obviously it'll win?

Apple balances RAM capacity and battery life. People want fast phones, want phones that can last for days, want phones that comes with 8GB RAM etc. Technology ain't there yet to balance all these features.

    Let's be real.

I've seen you posting around here, Radon. Even if you were to use the Note 8, you'll whine about the delay when pressing the screen to launch apps.

I guess I'm just not using my phone the correct way, I've been on 11.2 now for a few days and it's working very well, just as good as 10.3.3 ever was IMO, both on a 7+ and an air2.

The iPhone 7 Plus beat the very same Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in all respects including ram management on iOS 10. The physical ram isn’t the problem. It kept ALL apps in memory. The problem is iOS 11 is just optimised badly.

If I were in Android Incould just turn off the animations and on Android it’s possible to customise the timer within which you want the screen to respond. Everything can be tweaked on Android.

Honestly I don't understand the point of posts like this. If you are that unhappy with ios and apple, quit and buy an android. Problem solved. Otherwise stop comparing because it doesn't do anything helpful.

It's almost funny to see this when the iOS 10 forum was filled with all kinds of complaints and threads like this one in the early days of iOS 10.

I'm not really sure about that either given that there were a good amount in the early days then too (and really in iOS 9, 8, etc. days as well).

"iOS has always been buggy. Your complaints about iOS 11 are funny"

That's an interesting statement you are making with your own words.

Well, that was a statement you made using your own words. My posts use my own words and say (and mean) what I actually say.

    Is 11 an "avoid"? Maybe.

    7+ 128GB AT&T.
Battery is worse - aboutb 75% of 10.3.3
Apps have to reload when selected from Task Manager more frequently.
    Animations are ... Ouch!
I have a blackout issue when on a call.
Has some other issues like predictive text and app crashes. Others have other issues.
Have done the whole "work with Apple and ended up resetting as totally new - no restore" and it helped sort of.

Avoid it? Up to the user.
If 10.3.3 is working well for you I would stick with it till 11 becomes more stable. In the end it is your choice.

Or some people could just grow up and wait for the next 11.x to come out which is a great improvement...or...better still...go get an Android?

Kingston73, question for you... photo album sync to the iPad from the Mac via iTunes has been broken since iOS 11 came out. Have you had a chance to test and determine if it is fixed with 11.2? Thx.

Let me ask you a couple of questions:

    1. Did you verify if iOS 11 runs the same on other people's iPhones near you or are you basing your conclusion on your phone only?
    2. Did you restore your phone as NEW to eliminate a possible user specific data/app combination being your problem?

There are at least 15 co-workers I socialize with at work that have iPhones running iOS 11. Being the "iPhone guy" everyone goes to, the only complaint that I've heard so far was from a sales rep that had a battery drain issue that was resolved by restarting his phone.

As an experienced user of iPhone OS starting from 2007, I would recommend others to withhold the update to iOS11 until a more stable OS is released.

True. Minus the “grow up” comment.
My ex has a 7 - she asked and I recommended she wait.
My daughter just updated to 11.1 - (6S+) - she is having issues.
Mom has the latest SE - staying on 10.3.3 - for now.
The remainder of the family is on Android.

I will say the new Razer is looking very nice.

Well whether this helps or not I don’t know, but I’m running 11.2 beta on an 8 Plus and it’s very stable and smooth

I would refrain from making blanket statements, as a post like that can scare a lot of people and as such prevent them from getting security updates.

Some of your points are subjective at best :)

I personally doubt a buggy OS [ios 11] can be more secure than a stable os [ios 10.3.3].
Ios 10.3.3 is definitely not perfectly secure but my *personal* opinion is that it can be more secure than iOS 11 because the latter has so many bugs, so most certainly has many security holes.
    Save for the krack fix.

Screen stuttering on an iPhone X is irritating. Makes a new phone look like crap.

Look people. iOS 11 is a preamble to the future. Eventually we will see Apple OS for all devices. It's a ways off, but make no mistake. It's in the works. It's embarrassing to me the 10.13.1 seems less stable to me than Win 10 Pro. But that Tim's Apple. Quantity over Quality. :apple:

I hope that as further updates are released things will continue to improve. Continued fixes and improvements is always welcome news.

    You don't say...

Also, I'm not telling people what to do. I'm informing them of the FACT that if they upgrade, THEY CANNOT GO BACK, and there seems to be 50/50 chance that they'll run into issues.

What they do with that info is, of course, up to them. But know this: I'm not obligated to defend Apple or Google with any of their devices or software.

Another day, another speed test and as usual Note 8 is humiliating the iPhone X in ram management. Even phonebuff says in his video that iOS 11 now requires more ram than 3GB. Confirms that iOS 11 is the worst iOS release ever.
