Does anyone notice how much snappier is iOS 15.6 is? In my older SE and on my 13 mini, iOS 15.6 feels so much faster. Apps also load faster now.

By as for the battery life, I can’t notice any difference. But that just depends on the usage of the phone.

However…I DID NOT WANT to install this update. Because when I went to the update page, it automatically downloaded and installed. My biggest problem with these updates is that the Install Now or Later prompt disappears after just a few seconds.

This is really annoying especially when multitasking and by the time that prompt appeared, it was too late…

I don’t really notice any difference in speed but I noticed a slight improvement in battery life.

Turn off either automatic “Download” or “Install” updates or turn off both.

I've noticed how snappier it feels too. Battery life seems as good as it always has done for me, so no change there.

I am using an SE1 and have just installed 15.6. So far so good, I haven’t noticed any change to be honest though. I will see how things go tomorrow when I give the phone a full day of use.

Does it feel faster only because the update process restarted your phone, or is there a real difference in the code as in bug fixes and optimization?

Also there have been reports that 15.6 breaks FaceID on some devices. Not sure how widespread that is.

I feel the response is far snappier on iOS 15.6 when on an underpowered SE1. Seems like Apple have done some stellar work with optimisation!

Most updates feels faster as the caches are cleared (which is ironic since caches are supposed to make things faster) if there isn't a whole ton of content to index. Will take a few days to truly compare both battery and performance.
