So far I put iPadOS 15 on my iPad Air 3 and it run relatively well, however, it seems app reloads are way more frequent now at a point it reminds me the old days of iOS 8-9 with old devices with 1GB of Ram. I know this device only have 3GB, but for what I remember, it wasn't so bad before. Now, even switching from a single app can make the other app reload, very annoying.

I also putted the beta briefly on my iPad pro 2018 with 6GB of RAM and it also felt like app stay less longer in the background compared to ipadOS 14. I come back to 14 on that device because of this and other little issues.

So, what's your experience so far with iOS/iPadOS 15 in that department?

I have yet to switch Safari tabs on the iPad 7th gen without reloading so I'd say it's not just you. It actually seems worse than 2GB RAM on iOS 13.

I don't recall my iPad Air (A7/1GB) reloading this often on iOS 8 & 9.

Any of you realized it’s only beta 4 of an unreleased major iOS version?

There’s plenty of tweaks and optimizations still to be done.

Sure but I've run other betas and I don't recall them being this bad.

Honestly, 13/14 was already too RAM heavy on 2GB RAM iPads. If 15's already like this on 3GB RAM, I think GM will be noticeably worse than 14 on the mini 4, Air 2, Pro 9.7, 5th gen & 6th gen. No matter what optimizations Apple made on iPadOS 13/14, they were never as smooth as iOS 12 on these older iPads.

I cannot say if it is worse or better.
Now on the 4th beta version, infrequent app crashes or reloads, and far to frequent Safari crashes which may or may not close all tabs makes determining if RAM management is better or worse problematic.

Think we need a few more versions to get a btter sense on how godd or bad RAM management will be in 15.
