I am trying to retire my trusty 2010 Mac Mini that has been my iTunes local library host for 12 years. I am replacing it with a 2020 Mac mini. My iPhone, iPad and Apple TV 4K have absolutely no problems accessing the library on the 2010 Mini. However they all cannot access the library on the 2020 Mini. My 2015 MacBook Air has absolutely no problems accessing it. Yes both libraries have been shared using Home Sharing. Any insight on why the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV4K cannot access the library and the MB Air can?

Mac mini 2010 High Sierra 10.13.6, Mac mini 2020 13.1, IPhone IOS 16.3, iPad iPadOS 16.1, AppleTV tvOS 16.3, MacBook Air 12.6.3.
The 2010 Mac mini is running iTunes of course and the 2020 Mac Mini is running the Music App. The 2015 MacBook Air is also running the Music App.

BTW I can connect to the library using the Remote app for iTunes but not using the Home Sharing method. But the problem with the Remote app is that only one of iPad or iPhone can connect to the library at one time.

did you ever figure anything out with this?
Nope, I guess I'll keep the 2010 Mac Mini around until I do. Oh BTW when I play song from my Music Library on the 2020 Mini using the Remote app and airplay it on one of the Airplay targets around, it does not show up as playing in the Home app.

They've been working on a rewrite of the music app on macOS for some time supposedly. When it launches hopefully it will fix some of those issues.

Except the MacOS Music app has no problems it can access both libraries and the iTunes library served by an iTunes Server on a Synology server. It's IpadOS, iOS and tvOS that are having the problems accessing the library on a 2020 Mac Mini.

I gave up and installed Plex Server on the 2020 Mac Mini and used the Plex app on my Apple TV to play songs from my library on my Apple TV. I will keep on investigating this but on the DL. I have another mystery I am tracing right now. There is about a 20GB size difference between the iTunes/Music library and Finder. I have deleted the library and recreated it couple of times and it still shows 20GB difference.

OK today I update the Mac Mini to 13.3.1 from 13.3.0 and then toggled the Media Sharing option in the General tab of the System Preferences panel. Although the dialog box that ensued was taking a long time and I had to force quit it, the Library on the Mini 2020 is now visible and usable on all client devices. It must have been a bug in Ventura that finally got fixed. Now fix the infinite loop on the dialog box Apple.
