What resolution would I get when mirroring the iPad if I connected the latest (retina) iPad + latest AppleTV using AirPlay + 1920x1080 HDMI monitor?

Bump. Just to clarify, I'm asking what resolution mode does the HDMI monitor operate in when used in this scenario. Native res?

It should be at 720p for normal mirroring, but some apps will give a 1080p output.

So does this mean the monitor is constantly switching between resolution modes depending on what is being output to it?

Is this also the way Apple TV itself works (without connecting an iPad via AirPlay)? I mean, does the Apple TV GUI itself output one resolution, and the various content that Apple TV outputs (TV programs, movies, etc.) at a different resolution?

To my knowledge, no, but I don't have an Apple TV. I assume apps on the Apple TV conform to whatever resolution it outputs.
