I'm curious whether the ipad is a good tool to browse adult sites....

    1. Can you close the website instantaneously when your girlfriend is coming or does it lag a bit?

    2. Do pages with lots of pictures take forever to load?

    3. Does it leave lots of finger prints on the screen? Easy to clean screen?

I'm thinking of getting one --- anyone test it out yet?

Many adult sites are converting over to H264 media for iPhone OS.

Not that I'd know or anything...

Not a deal breaker yet...I'm more into pics rather than vids.

Not sure, but the screen should be easier to clean than a keyboard. :)

    1. Yep.
    2. Nope.
    3. Fingerprints are easy to clean. Anything else...I'm unsure about.

Pages load really fast. It closes immediately

No visible finger prints when screen is on but when you close it you can kinda see them if you hold it at the right angle. Miles better than iPod touch in that regard. That oleophobic stuff works great

    1) It's faster than on the iPhone, from what I've seen in videos. Almost zero lag.
    2) It loads pages faster than Internet Explorer on your PC, that's for sure (if you are using WiFi of course).
    3) No one can really tell this yet in such an early stage, although we do know it's easy to clean due to the coating. Fingerprints will be invisible when the screen is turned on.

And next to that: no flash.

There are plenty of video streaming sites compatible with the iPhone already. ifap, wankdb and spankwire for example. I think websites see the iPad as a regular browser though, so I'm not sure how that will work.

I suppose that depends on how quickly she comes. :)

    1. If you have to hide your porn viewing from your girlfriend, you're dating the wrong girl.

    2. iPhone is pretty robust. The iPad should be faster. But I think it's more a matter of your connection.

    3. The iPad, just like the iPhone comes with a screen that has a oleophobic coating on it. In other words, fingerprint resistant. And you can easily remove your fingerprints with a quick wipedown using a swede microfiber cloth.

If you have an iPod touch or iPhone, just google on it "iPhone porn". That'll be your iPad experience. Just on a bigger screen.

Privacy mode for safari would be great for this use.

In my house, she does come instantaneously. Just looking at me has her coming.

I must look suspicious or something.. :p

I don't know if there is a comparable app for iPad yet, but on the iPhone you can use an app called 'Downloads' which is password protected and has its own browser that is perfect for browsing porn sites without generating history in the main mobile safari app. On top of that, you can download videos which is nice. It can be used to download all kinds of stuff and it even opens rar and zip archives.

    Works great.

Unfortunately most sites either use Flash video or WMV, neither which work on the iPad. Works show up really nice though, especially with the nice screen. The gloss does get a bit in the way, but does not really take away from the experience.

Thanks for this app. Was just looking through this thread for some comedy and a really interesting app is mentioned. I'll try outthe free version first and see if it's worth buying.

Just remember, the iPad is not waterproof. There's probably sensors just like the iPhone.

I think it is a great thread. And people posting replies are surprisingly serious about answering the OP's concerns, unlike other threads.

    Please continue.

Had this happen on my iPhone when she opened safari. I blamed it on spyware - she shrugged it off.

Didnt I once read somewhere that the web is at least 50%. Yet another reason Jobs throwing a tantie and not putting on Flash is wrong. :p
