For those that have given iOS 11 a test drive, are there any new iPad features in iOS 11 that are second gen iPad Pro 12.9 exclusives? I'm very happy with my first gen 12.9" pro and from what I can tell iOS 11 functions nearly identically on the two devices. Is this correct?
For the most part. Other than obvious differences like ProMotion or wide color, here are some differences specific to iOS 11 (although these are really minor):
iOS 11 adds flashlight to iPad, like on the iPhone (it's not present on iOS 10 on iPad) - and this is not available on 1st gen 12.9" (no flash)
iOS 11 also adds the quick setting to toggle True Tone on and off which is, naturally, absent from 1st gen 12.9"
All Live Photo iOS 11 features (like choosing key photo) are absent on 1st gen 12.9"
iOS 11 supports HDR video (and possibly games) which is only available on 12.9" 2nd gen and 10.5" iPad Pros
I think that's it. 1st gen iPad Pro will be more than capable of running almost every iOS 11 feature, and with flying colors too.

and split screen is active while using a floating third app.
Split screen on first gen becomes blackened and inactive when you pull out a third app.
This is probably just a bug.
