Hi there, my son cracked the screen on my iPad Pro 12.9” the other day. It’s the 2015 1st gen. it all still works, LCD behind it fine, just the glass is cracked.

I have seen a screen repair service for £110 on eBay (plus postage to send it safely) but am thinking will this be wasted money seeing as it is now 5 years old and uses the A9X chip?

Looking at the iPad Air which often come up on the refurb store for £409 and has the A12 chip and 2019 so will be guranteed more updates than the 2015 Pro.

That said, I do like the larger screen and it is still really fast and it is mainly used for surfing the web and watching videos. It looks like it will support iOS14 so should get another years use out of it.

I have the keyboard and pencil too so could sell as cracked with the keyboard to raise a fair chunk of the money for the Air.

What would you do?
