So ive got a really strange one!

If I record 4K video on my iPhone 7+ and play it back on either the iPhone / iPad / Mac etc its fine, however if I put it on a USB stick and play it back on my 4K LG TV its playing upside down.

I dont even know where to start with this because even playing it on my Mac using the same USB stick its playing correctly!

Anyone got any ideas?

Silly question, but when you’re playing back directly from your iPhone to your tv, do you have the phone in the correct orientation? (The tv should display exactly how you have your phone orientated)

I have had this happen before. It’s like iOS/macOS have some metadata to know which way you held the phone, but other things don’t know and they default to the other way (upside down).

No ideas, but I had the same experience this weekend.

I saw this also when a thumb drive was plugged into an off brand DVD player. On the phone and on the macbook it was fine.

You could try using iMovie for iOS to rotate the video upside down to see if it displays right side up on your TV.

It was transferred from my iPhone to Mac then onto a USB stick and into the TV.

Really strange!
