I am still undecided between the two and want to see who might be down to go to one or the other. My brother and I are still trying to choose, so maybe you could help us out. Im 20 and he's 18, so a young crowd would be cool, but an Apple fan is an Apple fan regardless of age.

    Hit me up!

I'm thinking of going to the Spectrum but not sure what time I'm gonna try and get there yet. Originally, I was thinking 4 or 5am.

My girlfriend and I were planning on going to the Spectrum, but I ended up preordering, so it would only be for her. I'm 21 she's 19. I think now we may just end up going to the Best Buy on Jamboree at the Marketplace, as it will probably be less crowded.

I went to the South Coast Plaza store the day of the 3GS launch. By 8:30 AM, they had blown through the line and I was able to walk in, buy the phone and walk out in less than 20 minutes. Great staff at that location.

Today I talked to security at both Fashion Island and Irvine Spectrum to see what time they allow lining up. Spectrum seems to be one of the only Apple stores in the area allowing overnight waiting. Fashion Island told me that they will allow people to start waiting at 6am tomorrow morning (I previously thought it was 5am...).

So now I'm debating if I want to take it easy and camp out this evening at Irvine, or battle for a spot at Fashion in the am.

Very interesting, thank you everyone for your replies. I had also gotten mixed information from security at Irvine saying that they weren't going to let people stay over night.

I did talk to the Brea Mall staff and since I work there, they seemed very friendly. They told me that if I were to wait by the Red Robin entrance, then I could be guaranteed that those would be the first doors opened (6:30am).

Right now I am leaning towards Brea since no one else on here is for sure of where they are going and I can be inside the mall by 6:30am. If anything changes, let me know, I would love to meet a couple people while I wait!

Definitely going to the Spectrum since it's so close to me. The only question is when to get there.

If anyone goes, please update here on what the line is like...thanks! I'll do the same.

I'm thinking I'm going to show up around 11 or 12 just cause I need to be able to get in and out of there by 9am tomorrow morning (fingers crossed!).

I am in the line right now, there are about 12 people in front of me and 4 behind me as of 8:15pm. There is some crazy weird kid who is waiting here to sell his spot $400 hahahahaha! He is making this wait entertaining, he's practically a joke.

Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know.

99.99% sure they are not letting people stay at all. 5am is probably the realistic time they will allow people to start forming a line, the same applies for the Brea Mall.

I don't know who you guys are in line, but hello and hope everyone gets their iPhone quickly and promptly.

I'm right by the dudes with the xBox 360!! :D

The line has probably grown by about 10 people since 9pm.

There's a group setting up a big ass tent and someone brought a 40" TV with an XBOX. There's no lack of entertainment here!

There's an outlet by where they're sitting. I can't post a pic here through my phone but have a couple of the line on my Instagram stream: brandongomez

I say around 30-40 people, but that number will no doubt tripple by 5am!

The xBox 360 photo is in the attachments!

    Fashion Island

Went to Fashion Island at around 2 PM and walked out with exactly what I wanted - a Verizon, white, 64 gig model

To my knowledge, the only phones they were running out of were 16 gig models - otherwise, they seemed to have plenty of 32's and 64's with all carriers

    Good luck shopping all!
