Will be going to Tysons Apple Store early in the morning.

Called yesterday, security said usually mall opens door at 5AM, and that some parking lots will be roped at that hour.
(He didn't seem to know about the iPhone launch, but he's probably not the early morning shift).

Not sure whether the mall will open earlier. Anyone went to it for past launches?

Will post back here later if possible Follow @obamapacman for more updates

It's not bad. Seems that some people moved to the verizon line.

Around 70 for the Apple Store line. Maybe 20 in Verizon line.

Be sure to get in the right line.

Are these the preorder line or the hoping to purchase without a preorder lines? I've apparently been screwed by AT&T on my preorder an am debating showing up to try to get the phone today

Pre-order will get shipped at Apple Store I believe, so the line are for the no pre-order folks.

At other merchants, you have to pick up pre-orders.

How're things looking over there now? I might try to sneak in during my lunch break...the reality distortion field is at max strength, because I'm not in my upgrade yet and still thinking about it...

It seems that most people ordered it online

There was long line but Apple got them all through quickly.

Tysons Corner and Reston are both no wait.

I walked in the Mall at 9.30 and there was no line at all. Walked out with iPhone 30 minuets later, at which point there were about five people outside (you have to get a "ticket" to get in the store, which contains the UPC and serial number info of the phone you want, and you get handed off to a salesperson.)

Based on the number of "tickets" in the cart out front, they clearly had 100's and 100's of phones available. Loads behind the Genius bar and, apparently, many more in the back (where mine came from).
