iPhone 4S weird coverage

I'm getting bizare coverage on my iPhone 4S all in one place on Three UK. Another family on Three uk doesn't seem to be affected.

I'm in quite a low coverage area and only tend to get one or two bars.

But for some reason I keep getting 5 bars (But no data or calls. I can make texts). Calls just fail

Then shortly after it goes back to 1 bar:

This is all at the same location

It's been doing this continuously for the 24 hours. No other three phones in the house seem to be doing it.


Any idea what's going on?

How does an iphone4 act in the same situations?
(could be a new feature of the 4s)?

I doubt that's an iPhone issue, check with other celphones
