Is there a difference in how they behave? I'm at my office with a public wifi network. When I wake my iphone 5 up I have to agree to the terms of the network each time while on my ipad mini the wifi network is already connected (I don't have to agree to the terms) and I can start using it. I called Applecare and they just said it would depend on the device. Is that true? Or do I have a problem with my wifi on my phone?

Doesn't the iphone automatically disconnect from wifi when it is asleep? Maybe the ipad mini doesn't disconnect when it goes to sleep like the iphone.
