Hi there - I have a Sprint iPhone 5 and here in Boston my service has been switching from 3G --> O (roaming --> LTE (and anything and everywhere in between) very frequently.

This is happening much more frequently than it did with the 4S (hardly ever did) and is creating some annoyances like texts not immediately going through, etc.

Is this a characteristic of the iPhone 5? A problem or no?

I'm on VZW and I'm not seeing any issues with LTE, it stays locked in LTE until I get into my office building then it steps down to 3G. I'm not really surprised by this. I've seen some other posts stating this and the signal strength of LTE may not be strong enough (not enough LTE towers in Boston yet) to overcome the building's natural insulting features

I'd check with sprint to see if they can discern whether its their network or its the phone.
