My late 2011 MacBook Pro finds dozens of strong signal WiFi hotspots when I'm out and about but, of that list, my iPhone 5 can only find a couple.

Is this part of the iPhone 5 WiFi problem or is it just because the MacBook Pro is more powerful / bigger antenna / bigger range ?

I'm fairly new to posting on this site so apologies if this is a repeat subject or in the wrong section

Thanks

Your MBP has a better antenna. iPhone has smaller antenna and smaller power source.
