    Greetings St.Louis,

It has been a while since I stood in line for an opening day product at the Apple Store in West County but I will be there bright (maybe dark) and early to get the iPhone 5s. Anyone else making plans to do the same?

I'll be there. Should be kicky for a change. I've been spoiled by preorders, though.

Same for me. Last time I stood in line was for the iPhone 4. I remember it was a struggle with mall security. They did not want to deal with the lines of people at the mall doors.

Planning on going but I have never done it before. Always get them on preorder and shipped to the house day of. Any advice? Totally lost as to how this works since the store is in the middle of the mall...

Last time I went for a "first day" Apple product it was before the West County Mall opened. Mall security had lines at different mall doors prior to opening. I am not sure if it is the best door, but I was standing in line outside the mall door located on the upper parking garage (outside) between Macy's and Barnes and Noble. Once the doors opened everyone walked/ran to the line queue by the Apple Store. I know the Apple Store opens at 8:00 am but I do not know what time Mall Security will unlock the doors to the mall.

It's been a couple of years since I lived in St. Louis, but I did work at the Bath & Body Works at West County while I was in school. I often had to be at work at 7 am and the mall doors (upper level garage by Macy's) were always open by then, with plenty of mall walkers already goin' to town, so I'm guessing doors opened at 6. I'd think mall security or concierge should be able to give you a more concrete answer for what'll happen on Friday, though. Good luck!

I have been in line a couple of times on iPhone launch day, once with a reservation but both times well after mall opening. I plan to go Friday, probably after dropping my family off at school around 6:30am, which would put me at West County Mall around 7am.

Is that pointless because it is too early? Or not early enough to be at the front of the line?

Thought I'd let you all know-

Just contacted West County. Mall doors will open at 6:30. The parking garages will be roped off and there are two entrances that will be open this early: food court and CPK/Macy's. Hope this helps everyone! I'm also going to be contacting Galleria soon considering how huge their store is now and that there is a garage entrance right by there, I'm wondering if it may be easier.

Hope to see you all there!

I think you should be okay at 7:00 am but I would not come much later for the morning rush. It is hard to gauge the amount of stock they will have on hand. An optimist would say that since they did not have pre-orders there will be considerable stock at the store. A pessimist would point out they did not allow pre-orders because they have a small amount of stock on hand. I will be there at 6:00am. Plan for the worst and hope for the best.

In light of the recent news that supply's will be limited I am still wrestling with the time I should line up Friday morning. . Anyone have any thoughts?

I'm planning on getting there probably right around 6 since they aren't even gonna open the entrance until 6:30. The woman I talked to on the phone made it sound like they were not going to be letting people line up outside the mall (though I'm not really sure exactly how they could prevent this) but I figure that the line hopefully won't be too bad as long as you get there when the lines start forming...at least I'm hoping.

On hold with Galleria right now, going to ask them about some info for tomorrow.

Okay...this is nuts. Galleria mall is opening up the entrance by Bread Co. at 5:30!!! The woman I spoke to made it clear to me that anyone who is on the premises beforehand will be escorted off. Apparently they are cracking down this year...5:30 seems a little extreme but geez, I really want that dang iPhone....ugh.

Anyone else thinking of braving the early hours with me?

    ----------

    Strange...

Apple Store says 5:30 and Bread Co. entrance.

The Galleria employee at the customer service desk says 6:00 and the parking garage entrance right next to the store.

Someone else want to call and see if they can verify which one of these is correct?

Let us know how it goes. I'm hoping to score one tomorrow but I plan on going later in the day instead of in the morning.

I'm hoping to be at the Galleria at 5:30 or 6 tomorrow. Was there last year for the 5 launch at about 5:15, but went to the wrong entrance; I was right outside the Apple Store parking garage entrance, but wasn't let in until everyone else who was waiting at the Bread Co entrance (and had arrived later than me :() was in line.

Still got the phone I wanted, but had to wait an extra 20 minutes or so after opening to do so.

Was just at west county to check it out. Security was kicking people off the property. They said no one can come on mall property till 5:30am. The mall doors will open at 5:30 and people can line up at 6a.

Can also confirm that Mall Security at West County does not want anyone at the mall until 5:30am. The Security Officer said she was going to open the doors at 5:30 as fast as should could but would not say which doors will get first access to the mall. Good luck to the early birds.

Apple store employees are saying it is unlikely that gold will be available in store today. Told this to the first 20 people in line.

Debated West County Apple store or my carrier store just a few blocks down on Manchester. Picked the carrier. I got there at 530am and was the ONLY person in line until they opened the doors. I was out by 8:15 with exactly what I wanted. They said they also got limited stock (primarily black 5S).

It went very smoothly. I was buying for my husband and son. They really didn't care what color they got, so black was fine. Once the store opened promptly at 8, I was in and out by 9:30. I went to Best Buy to get a couple cases around 10:30, and there were maybe 20 people in line there, too. They seemed to have phones--at least they weren't turning anyone away, but I don't know what they had.

I tried to order online at 2:00 a.m., but you could only check out one phone at a time. By the time I got the first phone to the checkout, the shipping estimate was already 7-10 days, so I gave up and just went on down to the store.

I started shopping around 11:30 and every bestbuy was sold out as well as AT&T stores I went to. I'd like to get one but I don't want to go up to the West County Apple Store just to be turned around.
